Wagyu Wallet — Privacy Policy

Wagyu Wallet is a self-custodial Monero wallet browser extension.
What Stays on Your Device
Your recovery phrase and wallet keys are generated on your device and stored only there, encrypted with a key derived from your password (PBKDF2, AES-GCM). Your password is never stored or transmitted. We have no access to your funds and cannot recover your wallet: only your recovery phrase can.
Preferences (fee priority, node URL, display settings), your local address book and transaction notes are stored locally in your browser's extension storage and are not transmitted to us.
What Is Transmitted, and to Whom
- Blockchain synchronization: the extension connects to a Monero node (node.wagyu.xyz by default, or a node you configure) to download blocks and broadcast the transactions you sign. Scanning happens locally: your view key is never sent to any server.
- Swaps and bridges: when you request a quote or create an order, the Wagyu API (api-beta.wagyu.xyz) receives the assets, the amounts, the destination address you provide, and a pseudonymous session identifier derived from your wallet's view key. This identifier lets your own order history follow your wallet across Wagyu apps; it does not reveal your keys or identity.
- Prices and token logos are fetched from the Wagyu API.
What We Do Not Do
- No accounts, no sign-up, no e-mail collection.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising of any kind.
- We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties, except as strictly required to execute the swap or bridge orders you initiate, or where the law requires it (see our Compliance Policy).
- No content scripts: the extension does not read the pages you visit.
Data Retention
Order records needed to execute and support your swaps and bridges are retained by the Wagyu service, and for as long as applicable law requires. Everything else lives in your browser and is deleted when you remove the wallet or the extension.
